NAACP OF ANN ARBOR

ACE Your Health Community Wellness Survey – Take Action Now!

The NAACP believes everyone has a right to good health and well-being. We know individual health is deeply tied to the community conditions in which we are born, grow, live, work, and age.

The challenge: Across the United States, too many communities face health care systems that further fragment access and equity.

Our goal: To ensure all people in the U.S. can obtain physical, mental, and oral healthcare when they need it—regardless of coverage, employment, financial status, or immigration status.

📣 Community Spotlight: Student Advocacy Center of Michigan

Real Support. Real Results.

👏 This year, the Student Advocacy Center (SAC) helped hundreds of Michigan students overcome school pushout, educational inequality, and systemic barriers — including a student named Marcus, who graduated this spring thanks to SAC’s intervention after being expelled.

💪 SAC works across Michigan to ensure students — especially Black and Brown youth — are not just heard but helped. With personalized advocacy and deep community relationships, SAC changes lives.

🔥 Impact Highlights (July 2024 – June 2025):

  • 609 students supported through SAC’s Helpline
  • 202 students received direct Education Advocacy
  • 99 students connected through long-term mentoring
  • 86 youth involved in organizing in Detroit & Ypsilanti

You Helped Drive Real Change:

  • Over 300 parents, youth & caregivers showed up for Advocacy Day in Lansing
  • SAC supported testimony before legislators, urging funding for public schools
  • With your support, SAC raised $60,000+ through their “Telling Tales” fundraiser

💡 Why Your Donations Matter:

Students like “Scott” are falling through the cracks in overcrowded virtual classrooms. SAC’s summer support helps them catch up on credits, get meals, meet with mentors, and stay on track to graduate.
